Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use NutSplit: the website nutsplit.com, the web app at app.nutsplit.com, and the NutSplit connector for AI assistants. By using NutSplit you agree to them.
What NutSplit does
NutSplit records shared expenses, calculates who owes whom, and keeps the ledger in a Google Sheet owned by the group's creator. NutSplit does not move money. Paying each other happens outside NutSplit, and recording a payment in NutSplit does not send or receive funds.
Your account
- You sign in with Google and must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
- You are responsible for activity on your account, including actions your AI assistant takes on your behalf through the NutSplit connector.
- Keep your Google account secure. Tell us at hello@nutsplit.com if you think someone else is using it.
Your data and your Sheet
- You own your content. You give NutSplit permission to store, process and display it only to run the service.
- Each group's ledger is a Google Sheet in the creator's Drive. Editing, moving or deleting it outside NutSplit can break balances; NutSplit tries to detect and repair this but cannot guarantee it.
- Only add people to a group with their consent; adding them shares bill details and the Sheet with them.
Check the numbers
NutSplit and AI assistants can make mistakes, for example by misreading a receipt. Every share has to be confirmed by the person who owes it. Review amounts before confirming or paying. NutSplit is not financial, tax or legal advice.
Acceptable use
Don't use NutSplit to break the law, harass people, record fake debts, try to access other people's groups or data, overload or attack the service, or resell it without permission.
Price
NutSplit is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you in advance and you won't be charged without agreeing.
Third-party services
NutSplit relies on Google, Cloudflare, Clerk and the AI assistant you choose. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their outages or changes.
Ending
You can stop using NutSplit at any time and remove its Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Your Sheets stay in your Drive.
No warranty and limits on liability
NutSplit is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, NutSplit is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any amount owed between group members. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently zero). Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and tell you in the app about significant changes. Continuing to use NutSplit means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
